Fidelity Enters Tokenized Finance with Ondo’s OUSG as Anchor Investor
Fidelity has launched the Fidelity Digital Interest Token (FDIT), marking its foray into tokenized finance. The new on-chain money market fund underscores the growing institutional adoption of blockchain technology in traditional markets. ONDO Finance’s OUSG fund serves as the sole anchor and largest investor, accounting for over 99% of FDIT’s assets.
Ondo Finance pioneered tokenized U.S. Treasuries with OUSG in January 2023, offering blockchain-based exposure to short-term government debt. The fund’s dominance in Fidelity’s initiative cements Ondo’s position at the forefront of the tokenization movement. This development follows BlackRock’s recent entry into digital liquidity solutions, signaling accelerating institutional demand for blockchain-enabled financial products.
